Who is the PMP® credential for?

The certification is designed for skilled project managers (or team leaders) who have held leadership roles for a minimum of three years and fulfill the following criteria:

Oversee all aspects of a project from beginning to end under general supervision.
Led and managed multifunctional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
Exhibit substantial expertise and practical experience to effectively apply a methodology to projects with reasonably defined requirements and deliverables.

Eligibility Criteria

Category 1

For candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree, the following criteria must be met:

Present documentation of a minimum of three consecutive years of project management experience (within the last eight years) comprising 4,500 hours across five recognized process groups.
Provide proof of completion of at least 35 contact hours of formal project management training. How to acquire Contact Hours?

Category 2

For candidates without a degree, the following requirements must be fulfilled:

Present documentation of a minimum of five consecutive years of project management experience (within the last eight years) comprising 4,500 hours across five recognized process groups.
