Project Director

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Project Director to lead our project delivery function in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will oversee a team responsible for delivering lump-sum EPC projects in electrical transmission and distribution projects within the utilities and renewable energy sectors across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate visible safety, environmental, and sustainability leadership
• Ensure compliance with safety management requirements and regulations
• Manage PMO office in EPC business
• Lead project management professionals through all project phases
• Monitor and lead project management teams
• Be primary contact for customers
• Take ownership of project profit and loss
• Support project managers in meeting objectives
• Perform regular visits to project sites
• Develop project execution plans and resource plans
• Build project teams and foster a positive team environment
• Coach and mentor project management staff
• Drive continuous improvement of project management systems
• Ensure compliance with company policies and customer requirements
• Produce regular reports

Qualifications & Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management. Extensive experience in delivering lump-sum EPC projects. Familiarity with UK's electricity transmission and distribution sector. Previous experience as a project director and strong commercial awareness required.
