The Store Opening Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and tracking all workstreams involved in new store openings, including construction, equipment installation, vendors, permits, inspections, and operational readiness. This role serves as the link between leadership, contractors, suppliers, and field teams to ensure projects stay on schedule, risks are proactively managed, and each store is ready for a successful opening.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (strongly preferred), Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating commercial construction, retail development, tenant improvement, or store opening projects. Experience coordinating general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and field installations. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities. Bilingual English/Spanish — required.
Experience opening new retail, grocery, supermarket, or food service locations. Knowledge of commercial construction codes, permitting processes, inspections, and OSHA requirements. OSHA 30 Certification or willingness to obtain certification within the first 90 days. Experience coordinating ground-up construction and major renovation projects. Familiarity with municipal permitting and inspection processes in Oklahoma and/or Texas. Experience managing project schedules, contractor performance, and opening readiness programs.
