Co‑production Community Research Project Coordinator

About the Opportunity

Boingboing Foundation is a community co-research hub working alongside people facing unfair systems to co-produce meaningful, lasting change. We combine academic rigour with grassroots action to tackle the root causes of inequity, not just its symptoms. Our mission is to advance community research and capacity building, co-produce knowledge with the people it affects, and challenge the systems that perpetuate disadvantage. We specialise in co-produced community research, policy influence, and individual and community empowerment. Boingboing shares learning, resources, and collaboration opportunities with researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and communities committed to building a fairer, more equitable world.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering co-produced research activities, keeping timelines, budgets, and deliverables on track
• Working alongside community co-researchers, helping them participate meaningfully and confidently
• Facilitating co-production meetings and workshops, and coordinating communication between researchers, practitioners, and community members
• Supporting data collection, documentation, and knowledge-sharing, including contributing to reports, presentations, and other outputs
• Helping embed Boingboing's values of resilience, equity, and co-production into how projects are run
• Maintaining clear project documentation and supporting evaluation and learning across our work

About You

Strong project coordination and project management skills, including organising tasks, managing timelines, and tracking progress. Proficient analytical and research skills to design studies, interpret data, and translate findings into practical recommendations. Effective communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions, build relationships with diverse stakeholders, and present information clearly. Experience working with communities facing health inequalities, social injustice, or other forms of disadvantage is highly beneficial. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in co-produced or participatory projects, respecting lived experience and collective expertise. Good digital literacy, including use of online collaboration tools, document management, and basic data handling. Relevant education or training in social sciences, public health, community development, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Commitment to equity, resilience, and inclusive practice, with the ability to reflect critically on systems and power dynamics.

• Are organised, reliable, and confident coordinating multiple tasks
• Communicate clearly and build strong, respectful relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Care deeply about social justice, equity, and community-led change
• Are comfortable with digital tools, online collaboration platforms, document management, and basic data handling

Experience doesn't need to be traditional, we value lived experience, community involvement, activism, volunteering, and non-academic routes into research, alongside project coordination and research backgrounds.
