About the Opportunity

Role type: Full Time; Fixed Term for 3 years

Department: Chancellery Research and Enterprise

Salary: UOM 9 - $146,049 - $151,951 p.a. plus 17% super

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate IP commercialisation support, ensuring effective workflows, protection strategies and high-quality transaction governance.
  • Develop and maintain portfolio data, dashboards and valuation approaches across IP, start-up and investment holdings.
  • Support governance frameworks and committees for start-up, VC and funding portfolios, enabling robust, compliant investment decisions.
  • Oversee onboarding, monitoring and risk assessment for portfolio companies, engaging founders, investors and partners to drive value.
  • Contribute to commercialisation strategy, venture-creation models and new funding structures aligned with University objectives.

About You

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in law, finance, business, economics, engineering or related fields.
  • Bring reasonable post-qualification experience in legal, corporate, consulting, venture, commercialisation or investment environments.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with intellectual property, commercial transactions and corporate or legal documentation.
  • Excel in managing complex datasets, analytical reporting and multiple concurrent workstreams with high attention to detail.
  • Communicate confidently across technical, commercial and executive stakeholders, producing concise, insightful briefs and investment papers.
  • Appreciate university or research innovation settings, including IP commercialisation, technology transfer or start-up ecosystems.
