Responsibilities

  • Develop transaction specific asset and hedging strategies that optimize excess yield vs. capital within regulatory, accounting, operating and risk management constraints.
  • Support the development of asset and credit related pricing assumptions for various transactions.
  • Craft target portfolio strategy for live deals to deliver the required risk-adjusted return for the transaction.
  • Work with Credit team to determine best path to execution and analyze client portfolios.
  • Communicate target portfolio strategy to various parties within RGA and gain approval.
  • Negotiate investment guidelines and treaty terms with clients.
  • Support efforts to close the asset side of the transaction.
  • Direct the reposition required to move from the client’s portfolio strategy to RGA’s target strategy.
  • Suggest and review new tools and frameworks to improve new business pricing process.
  • Develop relationships with external contacts and internal cross-functional areas.
  • Direct the efforts of analysts to support the transaction.

Eligibility

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • CFA and/or Actuarial qualification and 10+ years relevant work experience
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance related field with 15+ years relevant work experience
  • Highly advanced understanding of investment/market concepts, especially fixed income analytics
  • Highly advanced knowledge of asset liability management

Preferred:

  • Technology savvy, programming and process improvement/automation skills
  • 5+ years corporate credit experience
  • 5+ years alternative investment experience
  • 5+ years fixed income management experience in an insurance client environment
  • Expert understanding of investment/market concepts
