As part of our 2030 Strategic Plan, Border to Coast is evolving to deliver Total Fund Solutions, integrating both advisory services and investment strategy implementation. We are actively developing this capability to provide comprehensive, customer focussed solutions that enhance investment outcomes.
Due to expansion in this area we are now seeking a Portfolio Manager to join the Portfolio Solutions team who will specialise in the provision of expert investment strategy, asset allocation and multi-asset construction tailored to the evolving needs of our underlying pension fund customers.
We are seeking an experienced investment professional with a strong track record in multi-asset portfolio management, asset allocation and portfolio construction. You will bring a broad understanding of public and private market asset classes, strong analytical and quantitative skills, and the ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear and actionable insights.
To succeed in this role, you will thrive in a collaborative team environment, bring strong communication skills, and be motivated to build external relationships with underlying investors and local government pension committees.
Based in Leeds, Border to Coast is the largest LGPS (Local Government Pension Scheme) pool in the UK. It is owned by 18 Local Government Pension Schemes funds ('Partner Funds'). The Partner Funds represent nearly 5,000 employers and 2 million members.
The Partner Funds are Bedfordshire, Cumbria, Durham, East Riding, Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Surrey, Teesside, Tyne and Wear, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, West Sussex, East Sussex, and Warwickshire.
The Partner Funds have c.£120bn in investments which Border to Coast is directly responsible for the management or oversight (as of 1 April 2026).
