Project Coordinator

About the Opportunity

The Project Coordinator is a key member of the Amentum Projects and Construction team, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects. The role contributes to project execution by maintaining data, tracking progress, managing documentation, and assisting with forecasting and reporting. The Project Coordinator works closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Project meeting coordination — Organize project meetings, prepare accurate minutes, identify action items, and ensure documentation meets required standards
  • Subcontractor access management — Oversee subcontractor access requirements, ensuring all permissions and documentation are complete and securely stored
  • Project Manager support — Assist Project Managers in meeting budget, schedule, and quality targets
  • Material and procurement coordination — Maintain material inventory records and prepare requisitions for supplies and equipment
  • Stakeholder communication — Provide high-level coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery
  • Safety compliance — Ensure adherence to all site environmental, health, and safety requirements
  • Administrative support — Perform administrative and clerical duties to support the Projects and Construction team
  • Supervisor support — Provide operational and administrative assistance to the Project Support Supervisor
  • Additional duties — Carry out other reasonable tasks as required

About You

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-focused, and capable of managing competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support project objectives. This role offers exposure to multiple concurrent projects within the defense and construction sectors and provides a strong development pathway, including training, professional growth opportunities, and hands-on project coordination experience.

Eligibility

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a general administrative role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team under routine supervision
  • Ability to follow established procedures, complete recurring tasks, and plan daily work schedules
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Accountability for the accuracy and quality of own work, including the ability to provide on-the-job training to new or less experienced staff
  • Commitment to upholding the Code of Conduct and adhering to Program and Company Policies
  • C Class Driver’s Licence and White Card (or ability to obtain)

Desirable:

  • Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, MYOB, or ERP platforms
  • Additional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Forklift Licence, or Elevated Work Platform
  • SharePoint experience
