Amey Consulting – Project Director

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Project Director to join our Consulting Highways team. This is a hybrid position and with office space in Motherwell and Edinburgh we welcome applications from Project Directors across the region.

The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week, but we offer a range of flexible working practices, including hybrid, part-time and flexible working patterns. With our network of offices across the UK and now Ireland, we are open to discussing working options that match your needs, with the flexibility to change how you work as your life evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Act as project management specialist and subject matter expert
  • Provide direction, guidance, and supervision to project management teams
  • Lead the preparation and checking of project management related information
  • Control budgets and manage costs associated with project deliverables
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers, including presenting proposals
  • Identify opportunities for project management initiatives
  • Lead the preparation of bids and work winning function
  • Assume the role of people manager when required

About You

Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject

Fellowship of the Association for Project Management already held or to be gained within six months of commencement in the role

Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status with the Association for Project Management

Applies deep expertise of project management theory and principles to rarely seen situations

Demonstrates high level commercial awareness

Excellent oral communicator and presenter

Supervisory and people manager skills
